Taking a Peek at Peak View’s Programs

If you are struggling with a mental health disorder, behavioral issues, or a psychiatric concern—or you love someone who is—you might be wondering what to do next. These sorts of problems often disrupt or entirely upend a person’s ability to function in daily life. When that is the case, the best option might be to seek out treatment at a facility like Peak View Behavioral Health.

What does that entail? Let’s take a look at the services we offer at Peak View Behavioral Health.

Who Can Peak View Behavioral Health Help?

At Peak View Behavioral Health we offer services for adolescents, adults, Veterans, and families. In each case, our approaches are grounded in evidence-based practices and the specific needs of the individual we are treating. We can help those who are struggling with a mental health disorder, a substance use disorder, or a combination of the two.

You find more information about how we serve each of these communities in this blog post.

What Conditions Does Peak View Behavioral Health Treat?

The team at Peak View Behavioral Health has the expertise and experience necessary to effectively address a range of issues.

We offer treatment for the various kinds of depression—including bipolar disorder. We help individuals who struggle with suicidal thoughts, and we treat schizophrenia

As we have noted, we are also able to help individuals who have developed a substance use disorder. We help people reclaim their sobriety and work to maintain it over time.

All of these disorders and conditions are serious, and people struggling with them are best served by treatment grounded in evidence and delivered from a position of expertise, experience, and empathy.

How Does Peak View Behavioral Health Help?

Depending on your specific needs and situation, you can pursue inpatient or outpatient treatment for a mental health disorder at Peak View Behavioral Health. Inpatient treatment involves spending a period of time in residence at Peak View, while outpatient treatment sees the person in treatment returning home after each day’s sessions.

Inpatient treatment begins with assessment and diagnosis of an individual in a crisis situation. During inpatient treatment, a clinical team led by a psychiatrist provides care, support, and medication as needed. The goal of inpatient care is to help the client move through a series of less intensive treatment levels as they experience improvements in their mental health.

Peak View’s intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs offer more flexibility for those who do not require inpatient care. These programs often include a variety of experiential therapies like yoga, music and/or art therapy, time with support animals, and various kinds of recreational therapy. Each of these programs is designed to enable ongoing improvement in a person’s mental health.

We also offer a virtual intensive outpatient program for those who need more flexibility but will still benefit from a structured program that includes skill-building and processing groups.

When it comes to helping those who are struggling with a substance use disorder, Peak View offers both inpatient treatment (including medically supervised detoxification and a robust rehabilitation program that includes individual and group therapy sessions) and an intensive outpatient program. In both cases, care for co-occurring mental health disorders that are entangled with the substance use disorder is provided. Good mental health and ongoing sobriety go hand in hand, and so Peak View staff emphasizes each as part of treatment.

For those who are severely depressed, are experiencing persistent suicidal thoughts, or who are struggling with bipolar disorder, electroconvulsive therapy can be an effective treatment option. Peak View offers the therapy to individuals who meet the criteria and are 18 years old or older.

Electroconvulsive therapy can help those who are not responsive to other approaches to treatment, who are an immediate danger to themselves, or who are not good candidates to have their mental health disorder managed with medication. You can learn more about electroconvulsive therapy at Peak View Behavioral Health here.
