This presentation aims to create shared language around different levels of suicide risk as well as identify limitations to traditional screening and assessment tools. Attendees will learn the difference between a crisis safety plan and a comprehensive safety plan, the latter of which aims to improve a client’s quality of life and reduce well-known risk factors for suicide. This presentation will also equip attendees with the skills to have a conversation with clients and their support systems about lethal means safety.
